Method
What Ideocube measures
The quiz places your views on three axes. Each one is calculated from three ideological facets, nine facets in total.
Economy (Communism ↔ Capitalism)
- Wealth redistribution: Egalitarianism ↔ Individualism
- Economic freedom: Interventionism ↔ Free market
- Environment: Environmentalism ↔ Productivism
Society (Progressivism ↔ Conservatism)
- Culture: Progressivism ↔ Traditionalism
- Globalism: Internationalism ↔ Nationalism
- Essentialism: Constructivism ↔ Essentialism
State (State control ↔ Individual liberty)
- Financial freedom: Economic control ↔ Material independence
- Civil liberty: Surveillance ↔ Civil liberties
- Control of information: Information control ↔ Pluralism
The main cube and the party rankings on the three axes are free; the breakdown of the nine facets is part of the Premium analysis.
How to use it
Compare your views with the parties
Four steps to weigh your convictions against the parties’ positions before election day.
Answer the quiz
Say how much you agree with each statement. The quiz is free, requires no account, and your answers are processed anonymously.
See where you stand
Your profile appears in a 3D ideological cube, on the Economy, Society and State axes, along with the closest ideological movements.
Compare yourself with the parties
Parties are ranked by two measures: proximity of positioning on the three axes and agreement between answers, along with your main agreements and disagreements.
Check the sources
Browse each party’s positions and their sources, question by question, on the Positions page (free with an account), then read the candidates’ platforms as soon as they are published.
Ideocube compares your answers with the public positions of political parties, not with those of candidates. Candidates’ platforms only become available once their official list has been set and published by the Constitutional Council, shortly before the first round.
Neutrality
Why the tool is neutral
Ideocube does not try to steer you toward an opinion, an ideology or a party. No answer is considered right or wrong.
The same grid for everyone
Parties’ positions are translated into the same answer grid as yours, then run through the same questions, the same weightings and the same calculation rules.
Sourced positions
The positions attributed to parties are based on their official platforms, their statements in the media and their votes in parliament. The Positions page details them question by question, with their sources.
Verified corrections
Any signed-in user can suggest a sourced correction for free. It is put to a community vote for 14 days, then checked by the Ideocube team before it is applied.
A party’s place in a ranking only reflects the result of the comparison method: it is neither an endorsement, nor a recommendation, nor voting advice.
FAQ
Your questions about the election
When is the 2027 French presidential election?
The first round is on Sunday, April 18, 2027, and the second round on Sunday, May 2, 2027, according to the schedule published by the French government on info.gouv.fr.
Which candidate matches my views best?
Ideocube does not compare your views with candidates: their official list is only set by the Constitutional Council shortly before the first round. The quiz compares your answers with the public positions of political parties and shows your main agreements and disagreements with each of them.
Does Ideocube tell me who to vote for?
No. Ideocube helps you place your views and compare them with the parties’ positions. A ranking is neither an endorsement, nor a recommendation, nor voting advice: the choice is yours.
Is the quiz free and anonymous?
Yes. The quiz and its main results are free, with no account or email address required. Your answers are not linked to your identity and are processed anonymously.
How are the parties’ positions determined?
From their public positions, translated into the same answer grid as the one used by participants. They remain open to sourced corrections from the community, which the Ideocube team checks before applying them.
Where can I find the candidates’ platforms?
Platforms are made public once the official list of candidates has been published by the Constitutional Council. They are available on the candidates’ and parties’ websites, and before each round every voter receives each candidate’s official campaign statement at home.
